What a messy, messy day!
After such a messy election year for my country, politics can be divisive, and it can also be unifying.
As you find people whose political views and ideologies are SO different from your own, you can find yourself squabbling over meaningless arguments so vehemently that you question the very nature of your own friendships. It can make you question just who you spend your time around and why, because it gets so ugly that you question if you would even tolerate that level of vehemence from your own family, let alone friends, acquaintances or people you know from your daily life.
In a sense, politics shows peoples' true colors by revealing just how they view the world, in situations you might not normally have the chance to see the people you associate with in that light -- and it allows you to question if this is something that you want to continue doing. (or, if simply these associations are people you never, ever, ever, ever, ever want to engage in politics with ever again
)
At the same time, politics can be oddly unifying -- You can find people who agree with you, be it politically in the same stances of, or maybe you're simply turned off by the same people, or perhaps you even only find unity out of shared apathy for the entire process, wishing only for the whole process to end regardless of if it all burns to the ground or something good comes out of it, or nothing at all.
But(t) most of all though, it seems that politics really can just bring out the ass-ends of us all.

I was in a butts mood one day, and it seemed topical to post this today of all days XD;
EDIT: I know "sense of scale" throws it off, but Sushiko has a HUGE butt, and is on the tall-normal end of heights for an average woman. Etreya and Miki are just that tall XD (Sushi 5'9, Etreya 7', Miki 8'2 )
